* When even a cat and a mouse can have friendliness or loving-kindness for each other, why can't people replace anger, enmity, ill-will, aversion, jealousy, revenge and hatred with kindness, love or metta, compassion, understanding and forgiveness? Our world would then be a more peaceful and happy one.

* The Buddha in Itivuttaka 27 said,

"Bhikkhus, whatever kinds of worldly merit there are, all are not worth one 16th part of the release of mind by universal friendliness; in shining, glowing, beaming & radiance the release of mind by universal friendliness far excels & surpasses them all."
