Of Drinking and Rationalizing

Reflection
* One of the 5 Precepts is to refrain from intoxicants . Drinking liquor makes the mind lose its clarity and heedfulness. Unskillful speech and actions can then follow.
* Today, more and more seem to be drinking ... for pleasure, social reasons, 'to relieve stress?' etc. A breach of the 5th Precept has its vipaka or kammic effects.
* Our clever and subtle mind can oftentimes rationalize our unwise yearning to drink ... soon we can become quite addicted to alcohol.
* Beware of the dangers of alcohol!
