The Buddha Says 12 ...

Make haste in doing good;

check your mind from evil;

for the mind of him who is slow in doing

meritorious actions delights in evil.

Dhammapada IX 116

* Do not wait or hesitate in doing meritorious actions

before it is too late. Seize every opportunity.

* The defiled and untrained mind delights in indulging in unwholesome things that have their roots

in greed, hatred and delusion.

* We need to be mindful of our mental states and thoughts from moment to moment ... this then can check unwholesome states from arising and taking control of the mind.
